St. Andrew Central Police are searching for a gunman who held-up and robbed a security officer on the campus of the University of the West Indies, on Tuesday. The guard was at her post about 9:00 a.m. when she was surprised by the gunman who robbed her of personal belongings. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage which captured images of the gunman. Last year, armed men invaded the campus and opened fire on a group of garbage collectors. This triggered concerns about security on the grounds of the university.
